The mission of Generation Prime is to provide assistance and resources to educational non-profit organizations in an effort to provide safe, inclusive learning opportunities for those with autism spectrum disorder, previously known as Asperger Syndrome.
Young adults with this disorder thrive when surrounded by peers who enjoy the same interests. By introducing them to a variety of programs that peak their interests, they can learn to flourish occupationally and socially. Art, entertainment, technology, and the environment are just a few of the programs and services that Generation Prime is proud to support for young adults with autism spectrum disorder.
Additional opportunities have emerged recently for Generation Prime outside of the non-profit realm, including socially responsible companies (SRC's) such as Urban Tekk and Blue Earth Compost. These entities are for-profit social enterprises based in Hartford, CT that Generation Prime is proud to support with its resources and referrals.
These SRC's use their position and resources for something more than shareholder wealth and growing the bottom line. They operate on business models that focus on social change and by sharing their successes with the local and global communities. They also provide support for youth and adults with social challenges by providing employment opportunities in fields of personal interest.
