Generation Prime was an idea that began with my son, Reese Blackburn. I am truly amazed by all the good works that have been supported through our foundation, Generation Prime, which has become a lasting legacy to my son.
More than anything, however, I am proud that Generation Prime has been able to make a measurable difference in the lives of so many. I have seen our good works grow beyond what we initially envisioned.
Reese Blackburn (1991-2013) was born with a heart condition (Hypoplastic left heart syndrome) followed by a diagnosis of Asperger's Syndrome while a young boy. Despite these obstacles, Reese was creative and determined, succeeding in many endeavors. Reese started his own IT business which later became the impetus for Generation Prime.
Reese was also a creative: he became an author and artist. His fantastical iPhone storybook and apps, "Crawleyworld" and "Who is Joey Speckles" a bug-centric tale with a compelling storyline and vivid drawings are a nod to Reese's creative bent. The main character, Joey Speckles, serves as Generation Prime's ambassador and is featured as the logo.
